Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains how Stream Review Pte. Ltd. (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you visit streamreviewhub.pro (the “Site”) or contact us. We comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 of Singapore (“PDPA”) and subsidiary legislation as amended from time to time.

1. Organisation and scope

Stream Review Pte. Ltd. is the organisation responsible for personal data processed through the Site. Our registered office is 11 Mount Sophia, #03-12, Tree House, Singapore 228466. This Notice applies to visitors who browse the Site, individuals who email or telephone us, and contributors who supply material for publication. It does not govern third-party platforms where programmes may be viewed; those services operate under their own privacy policies.

The Site is a public editorial publisher. We do not operate user accounts, payment checkout, newsletters with login, or comment profiles on the Site itself. Our data processing is therefore limited compared with interactive platforms, but PDPA obligations still apply to personal data we hold.

2. Personal data we may collect

“Personal data” means data about an individual who can be identified from that data or from that data and other information to which we have or are likely to have access. Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact data — name, email address, telephone number, and the content of messages you send to [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected];
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps generated in server logs when you request Site resources;
  • Consent records — encoded cookie and local storage preferences (see Section 5);
  • Contributor data — professional biographical details, portraits, and bylines published with consent on desk and library pages;
  • Correspondence metadata — dates, subjects, and routing information needed to respond to enquiries and corrections.

We do not intentionally collect national identification numbers, financial account numbers, or precise geolocation from Site browsing. Do not send sensitive health or criminal history data in unsolicited email; we will delete material we do not need for the stated purpose.

3. Purposes of collection, use, and disclosure

We collect and use personal data for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, including:

  • operating and securing the Site, diagnosing errors, and preventing abuse;
  • responding to reader enquiries, correction requests, and editorial correspondence;
  • publishing attributed criticism and desk information with contributor consent;
  • complying with legal obligations, court orders, and reasonable law enforcement requests;
  • establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims;
  • remembering cookie preferences you select in our consent panel.

We may disclose personal data to:

  • hosting and infrastructure providers who process data on our instructions under contract;
  • professional advisers bound by confidentiality (lawyers, accountants) when necessary;
  • public authorities when required by applicable law;
  • successors in the event of a reorganisation, provided they honour this Notice or notify you of material changes.

We do not sell personal data. We do not disclose contact details to broadcasters or platforms for their marketing.

4. Legal basis and consent under the PDPA

Under the PDPA, we generally require consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal data, unless an exception applies. By contacting us voluntarily or continuing to use optional features after making a cookie choice, you provide consent for the purposes described at the point of collection. You may withdraw consent for optional processing by emailing [email protected], subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.

Withdrawal may affect our ability to provide certain features—for example, maps will not load if functional consent is withdrawn. We may still process data without consent where permitted, including to comply with law or protect vital interests in an emergency.

We honour the Do Not Call provisions where they apply to specified Singapore telephone numbers and maintain internal suppression lists for marketing voice calls and text messages. The Site itself does not send promotional SMS.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Detailed cookie categories appear in our Cookie Notice. In summary:

  • Essential storage records your consent decision (cookie srh_pref, local storage srh_consent_v1);
  • Functional storage, when enabled, permits embedded Google Maps to load;
  • Analytics cookies are not currently deployed.

Consent preferences are retained for 180 days unless you clear site data sooner. You may reopen preferences via on the Cookie Notice page.

6. Google Maps embed

When you allow functional cookies, pages with map frames load content from Google. Google may receive technical information such as IP address, device identifiers in HTTP headers, and interaction signals necessary to render tiles. That processing is governed by Google’s policies, not ours. We embed a neighbourhood map centred on Mount Sophia for orientation; we do not pass your name or email to Google through the embed URL. If you decline functional cookies, the iframe remains hidden and Google should not receive map requests from your browser on subsequent loads.

7. Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes collected, unless a longer period is required by law or needed to resolve disputes:

  • Server logs — typically rotated or aggregated within ninety days unless needed for a security investigation;
  • Email correspondence — retained while the thread remains active and up to twenty-four months thereafter for editorial continuity, unless deletion is requested earlier and no legal hold applies;
  • Correction records — retained with the corrected article for audit transparency;
  • Cookie consent records — 180 days from last save, then expired;
  • Published bylines and portraits — retained while the piece remains public; updates handled on contributor request.

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it using reasonable technical measures.

8. Access, correction, and portability

You may request access to personal data we hold about you or correction of inaccuracies. Submit requests to [email protected] with sufficient information to verify your identity and specify the data in question. We respond within thirty days where practicable, or inform you if an extension is required under PDPA guidance.

We may charge a reasonable fee for manifestly unfounded or excessive requests. We may refuse access where permitted by law, including when disclosure would reveal confidential editorial deliberation unrelated to your personal data or would prejudice an investigation.

9. Accuracy and protection

We take reasonable steps to ensure personal data is accurate and complete when used. Please notify us if your contact details change. We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity and volume of data we hold, including HTTPS transport, access controls on editorial systems, and contractor confidentiality obligations. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Cross-border transfers

Our hosting providers may process data in Singapore and other jurisdictions. Where personal data is transferred outside Singapore, we require recipients to provide a standard of protection comparable to that under the PDPA, typically through contractual clauses or recognised certification mechanisms, unless an exception applies.

11. Children

The Site discusses factual crime programmes and is directed at general readers rather than young children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under thirteen without parental consent. If you believe a child has supplied personal data to us, contact [email protected] and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

12. Complaints and contact

If you have questions, wish to exercise PDPA rights, or believe we have handled personal data improperly, contact our data protection contact:

Email: [email protected]
Post: Data Protection Contact, Stream Review Pte. Ltd., 11 Mount Sophia, #03-12, Tree House, Singapore 228466

We investigate complaints in good faith and respond with our findings and remedial steps where appropriate. If you remain dissatisfied after our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) in Singapore in accordance with its published procedures. We encourage you to contact us first so we may address concerns promptly.

13. Changes to this Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes. The “Last updated” date will change accordingly. Material changes may be highlighted on the Site for a reasonable period. Continued use after an update constitutes acknowledgement of the revised Notice, subject to any renewed consent required for new purposes.
